Adam Longo

Anchor

Adam Longo anchors 7News’ morning show on weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.

"This station has meant so much to me dating back to my time as a college student at Maryland," said Longo.

Adam is a multi-award-winning journalist who spent nine years as an anchor and reporter at D.C.’s CBS affiliate station, WUSA9.

In an interesting twist of fate, Adam’s very first television job was with WJLA sister station, NewsChannel 8 in 1999 as a news writer and production assistant.

Adam has worked full-time as a news reporter and anchor since 2001 at TV stations in Charlottesville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Orlando, Phoenix, and the DMV.

He has earned 15 Emmy awards, including two Emmy awards in the News Anchor category. Additional awards include the 2022 Maryland AP award for Best News Anchor, a regional Edward R. Murrow award and multiple awards by the D.C. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for Beat Reporting and Commentary/Criticism.

Adam also serves as the President of the Regional Emmys, heading the NATAS National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Chapter.

Adam grew up in Stafford County, Virginia. He graduated valedictorian from his high school, Fork Union Military Academy in Fluvanna County, Virginia, and holds a journalism degree from the University of Maryland College Park.

Adam lives in Montgomery County, Maryland with his wife, three school-aged children, and their dog Boh, a shorkie (Shih-Tsu/Yorkie mix breed).

When he's not chasing hot news tips, Adam is chasing personal records in running and triathlons. He's run ten marathons as of 2024 including the Boston Marathon and he’s completed the grueling IRONMAN Maryland triathlon event.
