The 7News I-Team has discovered that 11 D.C. Police officers have been revoked or removed from their normal duties due to investigations since March.

7News doesn't know how many of the 11 officers are being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and possibly the U.S. Department of Justice for their alleged involvement in PPP loan scams.

Two former MPD police officers have already been convicted in loan scams.

One former officer has already paid back $41,000. A second former officer is facing 20 years in prison later this year.

7News I-Team Investigative Reporter Scott Taylor first heard about the new probe last March, but D.C. police brass didn't confirm it until 24 hours ago.

Earlier today, the I-Team asked D.C. police again how many officers have been revoked.

A D.C. police spokesperson said:

We have no comment on the number of members revoked pending completion of the investigations and disciplinary processes.

The I-Team placed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request this morning asking for the total number of officers whose licenses have been revoked due to investigations from March 15, when 7 News first asked MPD questions about its investigation, to today.

MPD's FOIA officer said 11 police officers have been revoked or removed from their normal duties due to investigations.
