WASHINGTON (7News) — If you're planning a trip to see the beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom this Saturday, there's a few parking restrictions and street closures you will need to know about as the National Cherry Blossom Festival holds 'Petalpalooza.'
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and posted as Emergency No Parking from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 5:

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation said increased pedestrian traffic is anticipated for this event and motorists should proceed with caution.

The free event is from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring music, art installations, activities and more along the banks of the Anacostia River. The Official National Cherry Blossom Festival Fireworks show is set to start at 8:30 p.m.
