We recently had the pleasure of welcoming back Wyatt Everhart, Meteorologist and Advisor with Solar Energy World, to ABC 7.

Always a great guest with powerful insights, Wyatt shed light on why solar energy is seeing such a surge—even amidst a changing and often uncertain energy policy landscape. Energy policy has been making headlines lately, with discussions heating up around which energy sources should be prioritized going forward. But according to Wyatt, solar energy is charging ahead—regardless of the political winds. “That’s right,” he said. “And not just here in the DMV, where our company, Solar Energy World, just recorded two back-to-back record-breaking installation months to start the year.”

Even more impressive? This boom isn’t limited to traditionally progressive regions. “Some of the most exciting growth is happening nationwide,” Wyatt noted. “And not just in the so-called ‘blue states’ either. Look at the maps—many of the states leading the switch to solar are in the South or the Mountain West.”

Wyatt summed it up perfectly with a saying that’s becoming popular across the solar industry: “Solar isn’t red or blue—it’s red, white, and blue.” In other words, solar energy is proving to be a truly bipartisan solution. As Americans from all walks of life look to save money, increase energy independence, and reduce their carbon footprint, solar is stepping up as a reliable and rapidly growing option.
