WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — The freeze warning issued by the National Weather Service has expired.
After a very cold start, plan for a sun-filled day with highs in the mid-50s. While it will remain about 10 degrees cooler than average, it will likely feel better with lighter winds and slightly higher temperatures than Tuesday.

The cooler-than-average temperature pattern continues Thursday and Friday with highs in the 50s and the return of April shower chances. Scattered showers are possible Thursday, but there will be a lot of dry time. Friday is looking like a soaker, as an area of low pressure impacts the region.
Over 1-2" of rain is possible by early Saturday morning. Saturday will remain cloudy, cool, and damp. A few lingering showers are possible, but the bulk of the measurable rain will fall Friday.
