Ken Jennings brings Jeopardy! buzz to DMV with Cherry Blossom Parade and pop-up events

WASHINGTON (7News) — Ken Jennings, host of Jeopardy!, has been bringing joy to the DMV area. He joined Good Morning Washington to chat about his local experiences in the area and his latest ventures in the world of Jeopardy!

This year, Jennings will serve as the Grand Marshal of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade for the first time.

Jennings mentioned being happy that young people are finding a passion for Jeopardy! "It's this great space where knowledge matters, where smart people are celebrated," he said. "I think it's very important that we have spaces like that. I'm proud that Jeopardy! represents that."

As a previous Jeopardy! contestant, Jennings holds a unique perspective as a host. “I think it makes me a better host that I remember how it feels to be on that side of the podium,” he said. Jennings encourages local fans across the DMV to take the Jeopardy! Anytime Test online to try their hand on topics and potentially earn a spot as a contestant on the show.

Jennings also noted the importance of watching the show as a study tactic. "People who love Jeopardy! play well on Jeopardy! because they know the rhythms and ins and outs of it," said Jennings. "That's the best way to cram."
