Lianna Golden is a General Assignment Reporter for 7News.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Golden is happy to be back on the East Coast covering both local and national news in the nation's capital.
Golden moved to the DMV after a sunny 2.5 years working at 7News' sister stations, KFOX/KDBC, in El Paso, Texas. There, she worked as a weekend anchor and multi-media journalist, fine-tuning her skills both in the field and studio.
During her time in El Paso, Golden had a chance to report on major immigration policy changes, including broadcasting live from the U.S./Mexico border the moment the controversial, pandemic-era public health policy known as Title 42 expired. Golden was also in the federal courtroom where a Texas man was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences for the 2019 El Paso Walmart mass shooting, where 23 people were killed and 22 more were injured.
Golden has a strong passion for the art of storytelling, as well as holding elected leaders accountable for their promises to constituents. She loves to highlight the GOOD in her region, always searching for her next community spotlight.
Before moving to El Paso, Golden studied broadcast journalism and Spanish at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned her bachelor's degree.
Golden is fluent in Spanish. She spent six months abroad in northern Spain, where she also produced content in both English and Spanish for her collegiate television station, Temple University TV (TUTV).
In her free time, Golden can be found training for her next marathon or soaking in all the food, history, and sites the DMV has to offer.
