We are seeking volunteers, community partners, and funds to stabilize and expand our core tax preparation, financial literacy, and Bank on programs.
The Coalition Steering Committee is developing an operating approach, and goals and work plans for the housing, health, food, and income support coordination efforts.
Food
We have created a food system linking low-income people to donated food (Food Banks), grocery store subsidies (Basic Food debit cards) and community gardens. Partners promote education and training on nutrition, how to garden, cooking from scratch and other best practices so that low-income people can effectively manage their household budgets with greater self-reliance over time.
Healthcare
We have created a coalition of partners who support connecting people to immediate clinical resources and other cash equivalents such as Medicaid, Basic Health Plan and Prescription Assistance Programs to supplement a household’s income, reduce bad medical debt and financially protect from unpredictable, catastrophic health events.
Housing
We have created a coalition of partners who work together to create a safe and affordable place to live for those who are homeless or those who are at risk of becoming homeless. Partners work collaboratively to close the gap between the need for assisted housing and permanent shelter with the affordable housing capacity available.
Income
We have created a coalition of partners who support people in establishing or increasing their income. These partners align services and resources so that people can effectively improve their employment status.
Financial Education & Prosperity
We have created a coalition of partners who educate and advise individuals about making sound financial decisions and managing their money in order to build assets over time. These partners work towards aligning educational programs, banking services and individual counseling resources so that people can effectively achieve financial stability.
