PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — In a battle of teams that have won every single Maryland's 4A title since 2015, Quince Orchard took down the defending champion Henry A. Wise 24-13 on a frigid night in Annapolis.
Cougars running back Iverson Howard takes it in from 1-yard out to open the scoring in the game. Quince Orchard led 7-0 in the second quarter.
Later in the second, Wise running back De'Carlos Young goes down with an injury. He would be ineffective after that point.
In the second half, Quince Orchard went on a drive and Travon Jackson with the 1-yard 'tush push' for the Cougars touchdown, making the score 14-0, with 6:01 left in the third quarter.
Finally, the Wise offense hits paydirt. A great drive for the Pumas capped off with a Kameron Parker 2-yard touchdown run to start the fourth quarter. Pumas now trail 14-7.

Howard scores his second touchdown in the game making the score 21-7.
Pumas responded, Pumas quarterback Erick Wedge III going through the air finding Elijah Pedro for a 37-yard touchdown. However, a personal foul penalty on Wise backed up the extra point attempt, which was subsequently missed, making the score 21-13 with just under 6 minutes left in the game.

The Cougars go on a long drive aided by a personal foul penalty on Wise, setting up an Evan Church 25-yard field goal which put the game out of hand.
Quince Orchard your 2024 Maryland 4A state champions. Their sixth title in program history and their first since 2022.
