The National Park Service said it has processed numerous First Amendment demonstration permits for the Saturday events, but will also be keeping an eye on protestors to make sure there is no criminal activity going on during these rallies.

"The National Park Service, including the United States Park Police, is committed to providing safe spaces for the peaceful assembly and expression of First Amendment rights. However, criminal activity that threatens the safety and security of the public or park resources is inconsistent with the peaceful assembly and expression of First Amendment rights. The United States Park Police will act to prevent any violence or criminal activity that would impede any visitor activities or damage park resources."

Large fences were also set up outside the White House Thursday night ahead of the Hands Off! rally. The White House spring garden tours that were supposed to happen on Saturday were also postponed to Sunday due to the anticipated protests.
